2009 MD Open Results

Results from the 2009 Maryland Open held at the Ritchie Coliseum in College Park on October 31st.
Orlagh MacKenzie Bronze Medal - Junior Girls Lightweight Division 13-14 years old
A.J. Child Bronze Medal - Junior Boys Lightweight Division 7-8 years old
Iain Standing Bronze Medal - Junior Boys Heavyweight Division 13-14 years old

I would to add that I am so proud of the way Orlagh fought. She weighed in at 77 lbs and gave up 35 (112) and 37 (114) pounds to her opponents in order to fight. Our mantra was "they are not better,only bigger.Make them beat you" . Both of her losses came after reversals in ground technique, when she threw her opponents for Yuko scores but couldn't hold them down.

2009 Shufu Eastern Open Results

Saturday September 5th, was the 2009 Shufu Eastern Open Judo Championships.
Congratulations to Orlagh Mckenzie, Gold Medal winner in the female 11-12 lightweight division, and Colby Horning, Silver Medal winner in the Male 7-8 Middleweight division.
Also competing were A.J. Child, male 7-8 lightweight division, and Iain Standing, 13-14 heavyweight. Good Job, Team Bushikai!

New #2 USA Judo Ranking for Orlagh

USA Judo issued its latest 2009 junior rankings. Orlagh Mckenzie has moved up to #2 in the United States in the Female Juvenile A (13-14 years old) 36Kg division.
Congratulations Orlagh. You rock! Keep up the good work!

Cane Fu Video Airs in St. Louis
