Cane Fu Video Airs in St. Louis

Bushikai on TV in Colorado

Bushikai featured on TV and Newspaper

Bushikai is making News!  The dojo offered a free Cane defense class at the Frederick Senior Center and was featured on NBC25 and in the Frederick News Post last week. Click the links to view the full story. We were also featured in a video clip on the Frederick News Post web site.

Bushikai Judo Student ranked #3 in USA

USA Judo issued its 2009 junior rankings. Orlagh Mckenzie is currently ranked #3 in the United States in Female Juvenile A (13-14 years old) in the 36Kg division.
Congratulations Orlagh. Keep up the good job,and best of luck at the 2009 Junior Olympics!

2009 Scholastic Nationals Results

Congratulations to Orlagh Mackenzie and Iain Standing on their success at the 2009 USA Judo Scholastic and Collegiate Championships held this past weekend in York, PA. In addition to a tough day of judo competition, both were named as Academic All-Americans due to their outstanding grade point averages in School. (Orlagh 4.0 gpa and Iain 3.8).

Orlagh also took the Silver medal in her division (Girls 36kg Juvenile A) losing to last years gold medal winner Sofi Greco-Byrne from Rhode Island. For complete listing of results from Day One of competition, go here : http://judo.teamusa.org/news/article/10808

2008 MD Open Judo Championship

Congratulations to our Competitors at the 2008 Maryland Open Championship. Winners of this competition can claim title as Maryland State Champion in their Bracket. This tournament also serves as Maryland's Qualifier for the US Junior Olympics.

Placings as follows:

Kevin Tabb, Silver Medalist: 5-6 Boys Middleweight Division

Aidan Flint, Silver Medalist: 7-8 Boys Middleweight Division

Leah Standing, Bronze Medalist: 9-10 Girls Heavyweight Division

Hal Reichard, Bronze Medalist: 11-12 Boys Heavyweight Division
